This year is flying by I really can't believe that April is here and Easter is fast approaching. We have put together especially for you some events that we think you will enjoy over the Easter period starting this weekend. Even though there is only 2 1/2 weeks until the long weekend some events will not have been advertised yet, so keep checking with us if you don't see anything that you fancy in this newsletter.
We have been very busy so far this year, we are still working on a new website - www.bestdiscountdeals.info we have some discounts up and it would have been finished but my parents visiting from England put it behind, I am hoping that it will be completed by the end of next week. Not only that, but this month we are going to launch a new service - VIP Booking and Itinerary Service, we will plan and book accommodation, events, restuarants etc, saving you time. More info on this will be announced on the website and in the weekly newsletter.
So what is happening during the Easter period
From this weekend, spend a great day at the races

For some great Easter gift ideas Hampers Only have some great ideas. Remember if you are buying for a women she might not appreciate chocolate. Me, I love chocolate but my mother and I have decided to go on a long distance diet together, this is a good plan because, I can cheat for at least a year and then diet just before she comes to visit again! I did have salad yesterday but I had really yummy fish and chips today! I will try again tomorrow! Anyway click on the banner for all your Easter hampers and more!

The Brothers Size
The Brothers Size is playing at the SBW Stables Theatre until 16 April. It is written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, if you haven't heard of this writer before, well I think you will be hearing a lot more of him in the future. He has won a load of awards since he graduated from the Yale School of Drama's playwriting program in 2007. This play is superbly written and is an Australian premier production.
The actual theme of this play makes it sound like it is going to be a bit depressing but there is quite a bit of comedy, music and just the sheer brilliance of it, when you leave the theatre you just go, wow that was fantastic!

The Mardi Gras Colour Blind Project
The Mardi Gras Colour Blind Project is playing at the Sidetrack Theatre until 4 March, with a gala night on 1 March.
The Project aims to challenge the stereotypes of what represents 'Gay Sydney' it is a seven short plays each bringing a different slant on the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community and the race and cultural background within this community. I originally thought that it hadn't really tackled the later issue, but then looking back many of the plays did have actors and or characters from different races or cultures.

Speaking in Tongues by Andrew Bovell
The opening night of Speaking in Tongues was amazing, Sam Strong the Director looked slightly nervous pre-show and I am not surprised as the audience had some of Australia's finest actors including Jacki Weaver.
It is the second time this show has graced the stage at the Stables Theatre, the first time was in 1996. However, five year's on and it could have been written yesterday. It is one of those plays which is timeless. Speaking in Tongues explores the relationship of two couples who end up having an affair with each other. Relationships and marriages are tested and questioned. I believe it is a play that would appeal more to married or divorced couples who will relate to the thought of going out to see if you still 'have it' and then the thought if you did meet somebody could you have a one night stand? and as the play says would one night lead to another? The play is very well written particularly the scenes where the dialogue interweaves between the two couples even though they are in two different places. Parts Two and Three are a development of Part One. You hear about the characters but they are not fully explained and the mystery of why the neighbour was covered in blood is revealed.
The cast Lucy Bell, Andy Rodoreda, Caroline Craig and Chris Stollery are all well accomplished actors and give their characters credible emotions - slightly nervous first meeting and awkwardness followed by guilt, drama and revelations.

NYE Sydney
What's on Sydney's Top Ten Events for New Year's Eve
I know many of you will think, it is week's away yet, and if you are like me you will have no idea what to cook for dinner tonight never mind what you are going to do for NYE! Well to make life a little easier we have come up with ten great events to choose from, out of heaps that will be happening all over Sydney.
NYE in Sydney - Make your Mark
“This year’s theme is ‘Make Your Mark’ which is about each of us making our own unique contribution not just in 2011, but in the decade ahead,” said the Lord Mayor. Thinking caps on how are you going to make your mark?
Brand new “X” shaped fireworks and cutting edge pyrotechnic shapes including lightning bolts, crescent moons, double hearts, bowties and a star inside a ring will all premiere this year, while for the very first time a multi-layered Bridge Effect will mark Sydney as the New Year’s Eve capital of the world. The show will feature 7000 kilograms of explosive devices, including approximately 11,000 shells, 20,000 shooting comets and 100,000 individual pyrotechnic effects fired from barges, city rooftops and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. So, as usual it will be big!!

14th Japanese Film Festival
Last night Sydney's Japanese society, dignitaries and media celebrated the opening of the 14th Japanese Film Festival in Sydney.
There are 20 films in this year's festival which have been picked from around 300 feature films. Japan boasts a huge film industry; many would know some of the animated films but as the festival shows the Japanese film industry produces some great films of all genres.
The Festival grows each year and now travels around Australia, after Sydney it will head to Melbourne.
Last nights opening film was 'About My Brother'. It was a very moving tale of the relationship and ties between a sister and brother. It was funny in places but the end moved most of the audience to tears.
Here is the full run down.
