Last night Sydney's Japanese society, dignitaries and media celebrated the opening of the 14th Japanese Film Festival in Sydney.
There are 20 films in this year's festival which have been picked from around 300 feature films. Japan boasts a huge film industry; many would know some of the animated films but as the festival shows the Japanese film industry produces some great films of all genres.
The Festival grows each year and now travels around Australia, after Sydney it will head to Melbourne.
Last nights opening film was 'About My Brother'. It was a very moving tale of the relationship and ties between a sister and brother. It was funny in places but the end moved most of the audience to tears.
Here is the full run down.
