FLICKERFEST 2013 presented by RENAULT WINNERS OF THE 22ND ANNUAL FLICKERFEST AWARDS ANNOUNCED



The 22nd annual FLICKERFEST International and Australian awards were announced this evening at a star-studded ceremony at the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach. Attended by celebrated guests from the Australian and the International film industry, the Closing Night ceremony honoured the esteemed entrants in this year’s competition. FLiCKERFEST’s Best Australian Short Film Award has now joined FLICKERFEST’s existing Award for Best Film and Best Animation in the international section in becoming Academy® Accredited creating even more excitement around this much anticipated award. Following the ceremony, a selection of the winning films were screened before the Closing Night Party took place.

FLICKERFEST’s Festival Director BRONWYN KIDD has said: We are thrilled that the 2013 festival has been such a success with record crowds and great enthusiasm expressed for the programmes screened. Its great to see short film so warmly embraced by audiences across our ten day event. I would like to congratulate all of the films selected for Flickerfest in competition this year and all of tonights award winners.
PAUL FOX from Renault Australia added: Renault has a passion for the finer things in life, and I think that we would all agree that the films that we have seen this week have certainly filled that category. We have certainly enjoyed partnering with Flickerfest, and sharing the Joie de Vivre here at Bondi Beach.
The festival draws to a close now in Sydney, but embarks on its national tour – first stop is Byron Bay with the festival touring to 46 venues including capital cities and regional venues until May.
