Keep Holly Dancing

Sydney Dance Company is excited to launch a new crowd funding initiative, which aims to give talented young Australian dancer, Holly Doyle, a once in a lifetime opportunity - the chance to spend a year rehearsing, performing and touring (both nationally and internationally) with the Company as a launchpad for her career.
To keep Holly dancing with Sydney Dance Company and give her the break that every talented young Australian dreams of, $100,000 has to be raised.
And as part of its fundraising strategy, Sydney Dance Company is reaching out to the community via an exciting new crowd funding initiative, developed with the support of advertising agency The Works Sydney and QBT Consulting.
Developed around the theme of Keep Holly Dancing, the campaign involves a dedicated website at
www.ayearonthewharf.com
with exclusive video footage of Holly performing a unique piece of contemporary choreography created by Rafael Bonachela.
A preview of Holly’s performance is available for anyone who visits the website, but to see the whole dance work, key fundraising targets must be reached.
Every donation, from as little as one dollar, helps to ‘unlock’ Holly’s performance, with new segments of the video footage becoming available as targets are achieved.
The Keep Holly Dancing campaign is part of a larger Sydney Dance Company initiative, established to provide promising young Australian dancers with breakthrough opportunities to kickstart their professional careers.
A Year on the Wharf, named after the Company’s home at Wharf 4 in the Walsh Bay arts precinct, is an annual scholarship program providing financial support for one outstanding young dancer, from anywhere in Australia, to join Sydney Dance Company for one year.
