PROPOSALS
2013 New Music
Mini Series
Deadline is Friday 30 November 2012
The New Music Network is calling for proposal for the 2013 New Music Mini
Series. The Series comprises artists and ensembles of ‘the next
generation’ within the contemporary art music practice. This includes
individuals and/or ensembles that are starting out in their performing
careers and/or creating new projects. The Series is held alongside the
annual New Music Network Concert Series.
Proposals for the 2013 New Music Mini Series are welcome from any
interested individuals or ensembles. Genres considered for the New Music
Mini Series include: electronic, improvisatorial or composed musics.
Proposals will only be accepted for events held in Australia.
Additional Proposal: In 2013, the New Music Network is
collaborating with Campbelltown Arts Centre on a special project relating
to an Australian Bird Theme. When submitting your proposal you may like
to also consider sending an additional proposal that features Australian
birds. The selected proposal will be presented as a concert event at
Campbelltown Arts Centre. The program may contain new compositions relating
to the Australian bird theme or the presentation of existing
compositions. Please note this is an additional event to the five-part
national New Music Mini Series.
The New Music Mini Series was launched in 2005, for emerging creators
targeting newly formed groups or solo artists and/or new projects. The
series is curated each year by two selected Artistic Directors. The
benefits of the project includes profile building, marketing and audience
development support and from the critical context of presenting alongside
more established member groups in an annual program.
