Upinder Mutti of Pennant Hills is gearing up for this year's 1200kms for kids charity bike ride.

This October, 20 riders from across Australia including Upinder Mutti will tackle a gruelling bike ride from Sydney to Brisbane to raise money for the Children's Health Foundation and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The riders will depart Sydney on October 10 and arrive into Brisbane on October 18 following stops in Newcastle, Muswellbrook, Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes, Warwick and Ipswich.
The charity bike ride was conceived in 2oo5 by two friends Trevelyan Bale and Gary Richardson to give back to the hospitals that effortlessly help sick children in Australia.   The inaugural ride took place in 2006 and to date the 1200kms for kids charity bike ride has generously fundraised over $500,000.
Each year, the Royal Children's Hospital cares for more than 37,000 children from all over Queensland, northern New South Wales and beyond.
Many require highly specialised treatment and ongoing care for serious illnesses and injuries including cystic fibrosis, cancer, cerebral palsy and burns.
Through the support of community groups like 1200kms for Kids, the Children's Health Foundation can continue to invest in ground breaking research - to allow researchers to tackle the illnesses and injuries facing our brave little patients every day.
The Humpty Dumpty Foundation has been providing support for children's services since 1996. Humpty buys essential and often life-saving medical equipment for Neonatal Units (newborn care) and Paediatric Wards (toddlers and children to 16 years) in hospitals and health service centres across the country.
