Mayor Ian Cross launched a brand new DVD promoting local volunteer opportunities at the Northern Sydney Volunteer Expo on Thursday May 12 at Chatswood RSL to celebrate National Volunteer Week (May 9 - 15).
Community Volunteering in Northern Sydney showcases the range of jobs and services available in Home and Community Care (HACC), including:
* helping the elderly, frail or disabled maintain their gardens with Easy Care Gardening
* driving people to appointments and helping with errands
* accompanying a wheelchair-bound person on special outings
* delivering lunches with Meals on Wheels
"Having done some volunteering of my own with Easy Care Gardening and Meals on Wheels, I know how rewarding donating your time to help others can be," said Mayor Ian Cross.
