2012/2013 Local Community Grants Program and Environmental Grants Program Round 2

The opening of Round 2 of the City of Sydney’s 2012/2013
Local Community Grants Program and Environmental Grants Program.
Round 2 of these programs opens for application on Monday 20 August 2012 and closes on Monday 17 September 2012 at 6pm. Funding for projects is provided between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2013.

Local Community Grants Program
The City of Sydney benefits greatly from the work done by community groups and organisations, with their services, resources, events and community-based activities enriching the life of the City.
Under the program, the City provides grants of up to $5,000 to non-profit community organisations for community projects, events, activities, services and resources that help build strong, healthy and vibrant local communities.

Environmental Grants Program
The Environmental Grants Program aims to encourage the development or provision of community-based environmental services and programs.
The program supports projects that provide a clear environmental benefit to the City community by delivering services, activities or resources that result in direct environmental improvement and/or develop knowledge, skills and confidence in the community to encourage environmental improvement and innovation in the City of Sydney area.
The program is offered over two rounds. This second round is for grants up to a maximum amount of $10,000.

The City carefully assesses every application it receives. While we plan for Council to consider the grants in December 2012, depending on the number of applications we receive, it may be later.

Community Information Session
The City is hosting an information session about the grants at 6pm on Monday 27 August 2012 in the Southern Function Room, Town Hall House, Level 4, 456 Kent Street, Sydney. I encourage you to attend and discuss your proposed project with City staff. You aren’t required to book to attend.
