What's on this Easter and School Holidays?

Easter is almost here, it usually rains but let's all hope that the rain stays away this Easter, I think we have had enough don't you? There are some great events here; some you will have heard of others you will not. Of course we had to put the Easter Show first, you can't think of Easter without the Easter Show, there is just so much to see and do. If you have just moved to Australia and you have never been before, I recommend staying around for the evening entertainment with the fireworks finale. It look's like St Ives and the Opera House have some great Children's activities, don't you just wish you could go back in time? If you want to dance and get on down, there are events here for you or if you are looking for something more sedate then you could go on a cruise or book to see a musical!

We have a couple of giveaways at the end of this, so make sure you read to the end!

Whatever you decide to do this Easter, try not to over indulge on chocolate you will only regret it later, though as somebody said to me if you eat melted chocolate or chocolate covered fruit then it's not chocolate!

The Sound of Music

April 13 @ 8pm, April 14 @ 2pm and 8pm , April 15 @ 3pm, April 20 @ 8pm, April 21 @ 2pm and 8pm
Hornsby Musical Society is pleased and excited to announce it's upcoming musical will see the return of one of the world's favourite musicals - Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music to the stage at Hornsby RSL. Loved by children (and adults) of all ages, Rodgers and Hammerstein's final musical collaboration features such well-known favourites as "Climb Every Mountain", "Edelweiss", "My Favourite Things", "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and, of course, "The Sound of Music".
The production will be directed by Laura Sheldon (herself a lifelong member of Hornsby Musical Society and former member of the Von Trapp Family, having previously appeared in two productions of the Sound of Music), with Musical Direction by local musician Dave Morgan and additional Choreography by Lauren Nalty (who also choreographed Hornsby's production of Cabaret the Musical). The entire production will be designed by Philip Youngman (seen last year in Hornsby's production of Curtains the Musical). The show will feature the talents of The Spirit of Sydney Chorus -- a community chorus made up of approximately 35 women who love to sing in a variety of styles. The Chorus was formed in 1997 and existed as a Sweet Adelines Chorus for six years. Nine years ago the group formed into a community choir and grew in number, enthusiasm and quality. They were delighted to welcome local resident Karen Bruce as their musical director in 2011, with Amy Putt as accompanist. The choir rehearses at Normanhurst and is always interested in welcoming new members. www.soschorus.com.au
Performance dates in 2012 at the Hornsby RSL will be Friday 13th April at 8pm, Saturday 14th April 2pm and 8pm, Sunday 15th April 3pm, Friday 20th April at 8pm, Saturday 21st April 2pm and 8pm. Family tickets are available. Booking can be made through Hornsby RSL or 9477 7777
